 Drugs Worth Rs 1,000 Crore Seized In Navi Mumbai, 2 Arrested

According to DRI, the drugs were being transported inside pipes and they cost around ₹ 5 crores per kg in the market.

"191 kg of drugs, worth ₹ 1,000 crores, seized at Nhava Sheva port of Navi Mumbai in a joint operation with customs. Transported inside pipes, drugs were brought through Afghanistan. Court has sent the two accused to 14 days police custody," said a DRI officer.

"Big Day For Andaman, Nicobar": PM On Submarine Cable To Boost Network

The Chennai-Andaman and Nicobar Islands Submarine Optical Fibre project began about two years ago.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi this morning inaugurated a 2,300 km undersea high-speed broadband project in Andaman and Nicobar Islands. The submarine Optical Fibre Cable or OFC link - connecting Chennai and Port Blair - will boost network speed and enable delivery of more reliable mobile and landline telecom services to Andaman and Nicobar Islands, a popular tourist destination.

The project will give a major boost to tourism, PM Modi said, calling it a "big day" for the union territory. The Prime Minister also said it was an "early Independence Day gift".
